What data do we collect?

In general, we collect emails, phone numbers, names, and regions. We will also collect specific data about events and actions, and occasionally take event specific information. 

 

How do we collect your data?

Information we collect will be given by the individual either through an online form or in person, or collected through other publicly accessible resources like social media. 

 

Why do we collect your data?

We collect data primarily to contact our supporters and be able to engage them in our activities. We don’t want any data that isn’t relevant to this or the purpose of furthering our mission, it just clogs up our database!

 

How will we use your data?

We will use your data to contact you through email and text and to group our supporters by region, so that the person contacting them is someone from their area. 

 

If you have taken action your data may be shared with the solicitor representing you or with trusted individuals waiting to collect you from a police station, or organising this support system.

 

How do we store your data?

All personal data collected is subject to access controls, is encrypted, and stored in secure servers.

  • The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data from Animal Rising. 

  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that Animal Rising correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that Animal Rising complete the information you believe is incomplete.

  • The right to erasure – You have the right to request that Animal Rising erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that Animal Rising restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to Animal Rising’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to data portability – You have the right to request that Animal Rising transfer the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
