They want to hide the truth from you. Help us show it to the world.
Animal Rising has just spent over a year undercover inside the UK's factory farms, and now we're going public. End Factory Farming is our biggest campaign yet: a multi-year fight to achieve government commitment to phasing out factory farming by 2040.
We've already organically reached hundreds of millions of people across Instagram, TikTok, X, and Facebook, without a media buying budget, on story alone. Now we need someone to take that further: to own the social strategy and lead the team turning thousands of hours of hidden-camera footage into the defining story of a generation.
You'll lead and grow a team of creators, and you'll still be in the edit suite yourself, shaping the scripts, the cuts, and the campaigns that make people stop scrolling. If you want your work to be seen by millions and to actually change government policy, this is that job.
The role involves semi-regular evenings, weekends, and domestic travel (expenses covered).
What You'll Be Doing
1. Own the social media strategy, then lead the team delivering it
Set the strategy across Instagram, TikTok, X, and Facebook: content pillars, platform-specific approaches, and how individual pieces build into campaign arcs over weeks and months.
Lead a team of two, mentoring and developing them as content creators and strategists in their own right.
Set quarterly targets for reach, engagement, and conversion (petition signs, email sign-ups), and report against them.
Use a data driven approach to see what's actually working, cut what isn't, and make sure activity is happening with a purpose.
There's no paid media budget right now - if you can build the case that paid spend would meaningfully multiply the campaign's reach, you can propose it against the wider campaign budget.
2. Turn our investigations into hard-hitting campaign content
Shape thousands of hours of undercover investigation footage into individual stories that build into one cohesive campaign narrative.
Write scripts and design videos that elevate our footage and land its impact.
Capture and edit content yourself, not just brief it out.
3. Help build our organisational narrative
Work closely with the Narrative and Strategy Lead: they hold the overarching narrative framework; you own how it plays out day-to-day across socials.
Translate internal strategic frameworks into real, published content, shaping how we communicate for years to come.
What We're Looking For
A proven social strategist. You can design a multi-platform content strategy and point to what you've grown using one, not just a calendar you kept full.
A data-driven decision-maker. You set targets, track what's working, and can show proof of your work.
A proven team leader. You've led people through complex, high-pressure projects, and you know how to mentor as well as manage.
A natural storyteller. You can take raw footage and concepts and turn them into stories that stick, vital when the raw material is thousands of hours of undercover investigation.
A skilled editor. High proficiency in video and graphic design software, with a strong eye for both long and short-form content.
A confident videographer. You're as comfortable filming animals, interviews, or protests as you are behind the editing desk.
A driver (preferred, not essential). This role involves regular travel, often to rural locations, and a UK driving licence is a strong advantage.
Mission aligned. Because this role is the public face of our vegan message - on camera and across our channels - you'll need to be able to represent Animal Rising's vegan ethic with genuine credibility.
What You'll Get
A genuinely passionate, lovely team to work with, plus regular team socials.
Wednesday co-working days that plug you into the wider animal movement - a built-in network beyond just this team.
Unlimited holidays
Flexible hours, remote-first, with travel expenses covered for your weekly Hackney visit
£1,000/year learning and development budget.
Up to £400 laptop and £200 phone subsidy.
CharlieHR perks (retail discounts, wellbeing support, and more)
